IU International is Germany's largest university, with over 100,000 students across its online programs. They needed an AI learning companion that felt approachable to students, not like another chatbot.
I worked across UX, product design, and the design system for Syntea's interface, defining the conversational structure, interaction patterns, and visual language from early concept through launch. The system was designed to scale with new AI features without losing clarity or feeling overwhelming to use.
Syntea shipped as a 24/7 learning assistant across IU's digital programs. Voice-to-type, picture-in-picture, and contextual prompts were all part of the final product, and the platform has continued to grow since launch.
