The Goal

The Goal

Redesigning how architects and internal teams access technical documentation by making essential resources faster to find, easier to understand, and more actionable.

The objective was to surface critical documents—like spec sheets, CAD files, and manuals—earlier in the journey and reduce the steps needed to act on them. We needed a solution that felt intuitive to expert users working under pressure, while remaining flexible enough to scale with evolving content and user roles.

This project was completed in collaboration with 829 Studios, where I led UX design as part of a broader strategic engagement. Deliverables included a proposed “Expert Access Hub” landing page, a redesigned product detail template, and a restructured technical resource library optimized for search and usability.

Note: Client name and visuals have been debranded. Shown only for private review ahead of public release (expected end of Q2 2025).

Process & Challenge

Process & Challenge

As the UX designer, I led the strategy for improving how architects, engineers, and internal teams locate and download high-value technical documents on a global access hardware platform.

Through stakeholder interviews, competitive audits, and user journey mapping, we uncovered several friction points:

  • Key assets like spec sheets, CAD drawings, and manuals were buried deep in the product hierarchy

  • Content was labeled using internal codes, making it hard for external users to find what they needed

  • Product pages prioritized marketing over utility, leading to inefficient navigation for high-value users

I reframed the experience around our core users—architects and facilities professionals—by streamlining access to resources across three surfaces: a proposed Expert Access Hub in the global utility nav, redesigned product detail pages, and a restructured technical resource library. Each was built to improve clarity, reduce search time, and surface essential downloads earlier in the journey.

The Outcome

The Outcome

The strategy was approved and handed off for implementation, with a phased rollout planned through June 2024.

The redesigned experience simplifies navigation, surfaces technical assets earlier, and removes unnecessary friction for high-intent users. Early stakeholder feedback highlights improved clarity across product pages and stronger alignment with real-world workflows.

We expect to see faster asset access, fewer support requests, and stronger engagement from our primary user groups post-launch.
